Origin
Italy, Milan, 1349-1354. Regarding the origin and date of composition see Jönsson (1998), p. 243 (where Jönsson also argues that the fragment may have been written by one of Birgitta's confessors).
Provenance
The fragment was kept at Vadstena. From there it was transferred to the Antiquities Archive and subsenquently to the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities. In 1854 the text was transferred to the National Library. This fragment was previously bound together with A 65, which consist of two leaves of Birgitta's autograph. This leaf was removed and renamed A 65a at some point after 1918.
Acquisition
From the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities to the National Library in 1854.
