Origin
Denmark, Roskilde, 14th century, second half. The manuscript from which the fragments originate mentions the date 1370 (Uppsala University Library, MS DG 51, 2r).
Provenance
The first leaf of the manuscript carries a owner's note by Stephanus Johannis Stephanius dated to 1645. Shortly thereafter Stephanius's book collection was sold to Magnus Gabriel de la Gardie and transferred to Sweden.
Acquisition
G. E. Klemming removed the fragments from the binding of a book in the library of Tidö palace in 1857. The fragments where found in 1922 in a box belonging to Klemming and then sent to the Regional Archives in Lund (Landsarkivet) for identification. They were idenfitifed as belonging to the Uppsala University Library manuscript DG 51. It is not known when these fragments were separated from the manuscript. The fragments were returned to the National Library in 1926.
