Main text in black ink. The first letter in a new pargraph consists of a captal placed in a separate column in the outer margin, e.g. (f. 3r).
(f. 1r): Penwork initial C over 5 lines (+ extending above the line) in black ink, penwork initial over 2 lines below the larger initial. (f. 3r): opening plain initial Q over 3 lines in black with interior reserved shapes; a face drawn in the counter space (possibly a later addition) and a guide letter in the margin. (ff. 15r–140r): plain initials over 2-4 lines in black.

Medieval binding. Brown leather over wooden boards. 6 raised bands. LCO, top of page in black ink: ‘No 39. Reditus Domus Dei in vernone’. Spine, on a damaged label in ink: ‘St-s’, and in print: ‘II REDITUS DOMUS DEI DE VERNONE’; stamped: ‘A 239’; National Library book label with current signum.

Provenance
The manuscript later belonged to Paul Petau, from whom it was acquired by Queen Christina and brought to Sweden. The signum on the LCO corresponds to the catalogue of 1734 (125e), where it is listed as:‘ Phil. in 4o no 39’.
In 1997 the manuscript was on loan to Vernon.
