Medieval binding. Red leather over wooden boards. 5 double raised bands and 2 single raised bands. Corner and centre bosses of brass on both covers. 2 additional brass bosses or studs close to the edge on , possibly originally part of a clasp. , middle of the cover two bent metal nails. , stamped in gold: A 212.

Leather heavily worn, boards exposed at edges, board attachements visible on . New leather on spine.

Germany Worms , 1427, see first rubric and colophon. The manuscript may be the the author, Johannes von Wetzlar, dedication copy to Friedrich von Domneck, Prince-bishop of Worms (1426-1445), cf. ( Bauer (1981) )

The manuscript appears to have remained in Worms until the early 1630's when Swedish troops occupied the town. It is believed that the manuscript was taken then, probably from the library of the bishop.

The manuscript was likely incorporated into Queen Christina's library and has remained at the National Library ever since ( Walde (1916–1920) ). The former spine label attached to refers to the catalogue fo 1734 (U 125e) where the manuscript is listed as: Theol. in 4o No 23.

Throughout the mention of bishop Frederic of Worms is marked in the margin by the scribe with the word Episcopus in a red circle. Sometimes a second hand has repeated this note. e.g. on . Certain topics or chapter rubrics are mentioned in the same way, e.g. on and by a different hand on . Elaborate manicules and four red or brown semicircles or dots which mark certain lines are found throughout the text, e.g. .

: The text is opened by two plain initials over 10 and 4 lines, one in blue, the other in red with flourishing in the contrasting colour.

: paragraphs opened by plain initials over 2-3 lines alternating in blue and red with flourishing in red or purple ink.

: dedication miniature over 13 lines painted in watercolours and ink. It features the author standing to the left in a yellow tunic holding a book bound in red leather; to the right, a bishop in full vestment. They are standing on a yellow checkered floor and the background consists of a blue and gold checkered pattern. The two persons are surrounded by two empty speech-scrolls. In the top of the miniature a coat of arms with four fields: two lions and two keys. This is a combination of the city coat of arms of Worms and the bishop's coat of arms ( Bauer (1981) ).

: adoration miniature over 7 lines. To the left, a seated Virgin Mary dressed in blue and red with a crown and halo in gold holding the Christ child; to the right, the author kneeling in a red tunic. The background consists of a checkered pattern in red, blue, and yellow.
