Sweden, Vadstena monastery , 16th century, first half

The phrase N 5:o 3ius in ordine planctus ecclesie on most likely refers to the shelfmark system in Vadstena monastery, described by Fredriksson (1997) and Nordin (2021) . The covers may have been previously used for a work with the title Planctus Ecclesie. Monica Hedlund has suggested that the note was written by Michael Nicolai, priest-brother in Vadstena 1487-1516. He is also the scribe for the National Library MS A 113; see Hedlund (1980) , note 26.
