VisColl collation

The original quire structure consists of quinternions or quaternions with two singletons added. There are also several singletons (often in the form of slips) added to the quinternions. Quire 14 lacks 2 leaves and quire 16 lacks 1. After the modern rebinding dummy leaves haved been added to the singletons creating a new structure consisting mainly of sesternions. The viscoll collation shows the modern stucture with dummy leaves marked in blue. This collation is based on former librarian Anna Wolodarski's work.

Modern quire signatures in the bottom inner margin of the first recto of each quire. Catchwords in black ink in a red scroll. New flyleaves. Original flyleaves and strips used as liners for the spine bound together with the first and last quire. Original flyleaves consist of fragment from a Psalter ( seems to be Ps. 118).

Attached to a handwritten note in a 18th/19th c. hand in dark ink in Latin + additions by a later hand (?) in Swedish.

Sweden Stockholm , 1460. Written for the chapel of Helgeandshuset (Hospital of the Holy Ghost) in Stockholm.

Some time after the dissolution of Helgeandshuset in 1531, the manuscript was probably transferred to Stockholm Cathedral (Storkyrkan), cf. by G.E. Klemming.

Note dated 1524 on the confiscation of silver from Helgeandshuset on Gustav Vasa’s behalf by Paval Skolte, superintendent of the hospital in 1519-21 and 1523.
