Modern foliation in pencil at top right corner of each recto. Occasional folio numbers written in ink, e.g. . At , the folio number, written in black ink, has been struck out and replaced with the correct number, 304, in pencil. It is likely that the manuscript was written in Greece, probably on the Holy Mountain or a monastery in Meteora. The ms is dated 1368 by its colophon; this dating contrasts with the more ancient appearance of the ms and its script, which is therefore to be considered extremely conservative. Although the scribe is named as Nicholas the Cretan, I could only find the village of Caiaphas on a modern map on the Western coast of the Peloponnese. However it is more likely that Nicholas belonged to one of the main monastic centres, or at least that he had models available to him from there.Changing status from draft to publishedFirst draftAdded facsimile
